Why did you choose to go to Vienna, Austria?

It's the culture centre and it's everyone's dream to see Vienna around Christmas.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

For me - 4 months and a half. So that I'm coming from Bulgaria I got the maximum payment per month - 680 euro.

What is the student lifestyle like in Vienna?

It depends what type of a person you are. If you like random big parties - you won't be bored. But if you prefer some alternative lifestyle... It's a bit hard to find but it exists.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Vienna to other students?

The city - yes. The Uni Wien.. It's not what I expected - chaotic administration, not so good education etc.

What is the food like?

Great... Apart from schnitzels and everything else they have really nice sweets, small bakeries and tasty fatty stuff.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Vienna?

Yes, it's really hard to find a flat, especially when you search for something cheaper. With the students dorms - it's possible but you have to start looking for free room in advance, they get booked really fast.

How much does it cost to live in Vienna?

I think 500-600 euro per month is more than enough.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes, they are language courses, but even when you don't know german, you won't get lost, everybody speaks english.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Vienna from your city?

By car or by bus.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Vienna?

I recommend the small bars or pubs. It depends what you like.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Vienna?

Mm there are a lot of choices for "pay as you wish" - Deewan, Gagarin etc.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Everything. Vienna is the essence of the culture.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Vienna in the future?

Try to travel more outside Austria.
