Why did you choose to go to Vienna, Austria?

It is a city with a lot of magic that makes you feel deeply its fantasy and mysterious vibration that is in it, you can feel the weight of knowledge in the city. When I saw that my university in Brazil was opening an exchange with Vienna, I could not resist taking advantage of the opportunity that presented itself at that time.

What is the student lifestyle like in Vienna, Austria?

I'm a quiet student, so I don't usually go out much at night, and I know that's very different compared to most students who like meetings and parties.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Vienna to other students?

I'm sure I recommend it!

It will be an unforgettable experience!

What is the food like?

The food is truly Delicious! Especially candy and baked goods! I advise you to try Feuerkuchen once you arrive in Vienna!

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Vienna?

It was easy, I found a single apartment with bathroom and kitchen, a little expensive but the accommodation is very good.

How much does it cost to live in Vienna?

I was trying to save as much money as possible, buying in the supermarket is the best option, it's very cheap, but eating out can be expensive if you don't move away from the more touristy areas.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I'm a Germanic student, so language is no problem for me, but still, there are several options within the university regarding language courses. As well as external courses in the city these courses can be found advertised in the metro stations and other places.

The courses are considerably cheap.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Vienna from your city?

I am from Säo Paulo, Brazil, so there is no other way than by plane, however there must be two stops from the Americas, you have to stop in some big European city like Munich, Paris, Zurich or London and then take a plane to Vienna (trains take too long, I prefer to go by plane within Europe)

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Vienna?

Stephansplatz is one of the best places to go at night.

You'll have a great time!

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Vienna?

Despite not being traditional Viennese food, there is an Asian takeaway restaurant at Schottentor station and it is really delicious and the best, very cheap! Another advantage of this place is that it stays open very late, so it is a lifesaver for students who take classes at night!

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

This city really does have a lot of great museums! It is a sin to ignore the museums of this city! The architecture of the city is also very interesting, you can't forget to go to the famous Danube River.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Vienna in the future?

Register well in advance for your accommodation! About 5 months before you go to Vienna, so that you become familiar with each housing company's management process (each requires different documents, or different orders of action such as the bond).
