The doctorate project there was very similar to what I was studying in Spain and they gave me a grant here that I didn't get in Madrid.

For 3 years. I got €850 a month.

Was it difficult to find accommodation in Vienna?

Yes, a lot. It's one of the hardest things about living in Vienna, especially during September and October.

Around €800 or €900 if you're not too frivolous.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the university?

No, I don't know any German and you can get by without it. However, it is best to learn the language.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Vienna from your home city?

I've only tried Iberia, I think that they're bringing back the Flyniki flights, they should be cheaper.
