Would you recommend the city and the University of Vienna to other students?

For sure. There is a lot of money for the University, so the offer is quite large, and if you have the energy and the time for, you really can follow many different classes with really good teachers

What is the food like?

I am a vegatarian. Hard stuff here, a lot of meat, but you can always find an alternative in every restaurant. It is quite often not original, but there is some. But unfortunately, good food and bio are quite expensive here.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Vienna?

Hundred applications forms send and just 3 visits at the end. But I was lucky and I found something really nice. But I know some of my friends who were not as lucky as me. Especially with some questions about law, be careful when you book a flat, here in Austria there can be a lot of charges and taxes, and the owners can really be not so honest with that.

How much does it cost to live in Vienna?

It is quite expensive, but as a Normal Capital. At least, less expensive than Paris!

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

There are some courses available at the university, but not so much places, so you have to be quick! But there is a lot of partnership with languages institutes and you always can find something which can count for your ECTS, just ask the Erasmus coordinator in Wien.

Of course German is not so easy, but the people are really open to help and to go slowly, and if it doesn´t work, they all can speak in English here.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Vienna?

Swing Kitchen, A vegan fast food.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

So much! Of course, Schonbrunn castle, the gardens, Belvedere, Karlskirche, all the Museum Quartier... But the best way is really to walk through the city center and enjoy! There is something to visit at every corner.

Enjoy the cultural life! There is a lot of theatre and Concert House and you can go with really cheap tickets. You have to be patient because it is always the last tickets, or the standing tickets, but it's worth it!
