Erasmus Experience in Vienna, Austria by Ágnes

Why did you choose to go to Vienna, Austria?

First I chosen it,because it's close to my country,and workrooms are well-equiped on my department,and my school is really good.The other reason is big cultural life.Every day you can go some exibithion opening,and you can watch performances,etc.This city is a bit similar then mine(Budapest), and people are so calm and nice and open-minded.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

It's 4 months( in Academy of Fine Arts, department Graphic techniques and Printmaking techniques.My school gave me 1590 euros,which is not enough for 4 months.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Vienna to other students?

Yes,absolutely!If you want big citylife,but there is a wood around Vienna,and there are a lot of beautiful,quiet,nice parks!The Akbild( Akademy of Fine Arts) is really good,

How much does it cost to live in Vienna?

You need approximetly 2000 euros, if you are not spend a lot.You must pay for the semester ticket(150 euros for half a year,so it's good), and the student union fee,wich is approximately 20 euros,and if you will stay more than 3 month,you should pay for staying (ap. 60 euros).The accomodation is about 300-500 euros,but maybe you can find cheaper.I spend 20 euros for food per week,which is not too much,but I'm cooking at home.If you want to go to eat somewhere,it will be 3-15 euros.(Or more,or less :) ,it depends on the type of the place)
