Erasmus experience in Vienna, Austria

Why did you choose to go to Vienna, Austria?

There are too many reasons why I chose Vienna. I had some friends who already spent their exchange semester in Vienna some years ago and they kept telling me how much fun they had and how beautiful the city was.
Secondly, Vienna is an European capital, the second most liveble city in the world and well-located in the heart of Europe.
The last reason was that the Wirtschaftsuniversitaet (WU) is the largest business school in Europe and ranked in the top 30 of the best business school by the Financial Times with more than 600 exchange students every year from all over the world.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

As a student of the University of Cagliari (Sardinia), I received maybe one of the highest scholarship in the whole Italy, thanks to my Region which gave me 300€/per month in addition to the 230€/per month of the EU, plus 70€ from the government and a refund of my plane tickets.
The only problem is that the payment of the scholarship is divided in three parts:
- the first part is usually paid in December
- the second one in late April
- the last one (and the refund of the tickets) once you're back to Cagliari and the International Office controls that all your documents are ok.
That's why it's necessary to have some savings because, especially during the first weeks, there are a lot of expenses.
