Austria - Why it can be the best place to live in

Simply put, I went on an Internship to the Institute of Science and Technology (IST) Austria and had the best 5 months of my life.

The institute is in Klosterneuburg, what for some of you might be easier to think of as Vienna's outskirts. The Institute itself is located in what many may consider "the middle of nowhere". A brand new Institute with top facilities surrounded by mountains and trees, with a lake and 3 ducks. Not so many people, everyone knows each other. Huge plans for expansion. Huge financial resources. Amazing people, hiking paths, food, beers, events, vibes and something else that cannot be described or put into words but that turns the place into a magical one.

But the amazing institute and the amazing surroundings sort of reflect what one will find in Vienna and Austria in general. An awesome environment. Top services and beautiful facilities. Welcoming people. Lots of events. Very good water and air quality. Large cultural baggage still extremely open and constantly engaged in the modern trends. A city that functions for its population and a population that functions for its city. People don't work too long, time for leisure and pleasure is important. But they do it well and everything functions well. It may be regarded as a city of opportunity, in the center of the continent. Diversity is abundant, but its identity is preserved. You will always feel safe and comfortable.

Simply put, in Vienna you'll feel like living in a bubble from which you won't want to come out.
