Experience in Valencia, Spain by Maureen
What is it like to live in Valencia? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Yes I recommend it. It is a very lively city with a clear overview of the barrios. There is something to see or do every day and it is a well organized city, by means of public transport.
What is the student lifestyle like in Valencia?
Present in everything, there are so many (foreign) students here, parties on every corner of the street and the chance to mee people at your doorstep.
How much does it cost to live in Valencia?
for Dutch norms it is cheap, around blasco ibanez you don't have to pay more than 300euros for a room. Groceries and going out for dinner is rather cheap as well. Buy your fruit and vergetables at the local grocer, not the supermarket!
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Valencia? Is there any advice you can give?
No, there are more rooms available than students to find them. Come to Valencia and pick a telephonenumber from a lamppole, or join the Erasmus Valencia pages.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Good, I love tapas and there are many good italian restaurants.
I really like calamares and all sorts of pastas.
What places would you recommend visiting in Valencia?
the old city centre, ciudad de las artes y ciencias, mercado cabanyal
Is it good to eat out in Valencia? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
yes certainly, i like the tapas restaurant called Infanta cafe at Plaza Tossal and Cafe y Tapas at Plaza Ayuntamiento.
