What is it like to live in Valencia? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Life in Valencia is great. You have the beach really close and Valencia is also a big city with a lot of places to drink, eat and have fun. If you want, you can take the bus and visit the countryside which is really close too.

The best place to live is near the city center, the neighborhood of Ruzafa or close to the universities, because in these areas you can find everything that I mentioned before.

Erasmus students party every day of the week especially on Wednesdays.

Every student goes to dinner around the Xuquer square and to drink beer at Cedro square or near the physiology university.

Student rooms can cost 150€ per month (including bills). You can live with 300€ per month including food.

Accommodation in student residence is really expensive. It can cost 800€ per month including everything.

What advice would you give future students heading to Valencia?

Don't study pretty hard! Say to the teachers you are an international student. Try to go to every party as you can! Have a good time!

Do not expect Spanish people talking to you, they don't seem friendly but they are really busy and do not realize that there is someone new in class. Say hello and meet up with them outside the class, they will treat you really well but they won't make the first move for sure.
