Why did you choose to go to Valencia, Spain?
I am here in the framework of an internship of my Erasmus Mundus programme. I am writing my thesis partly here and there is a great group in the Chemistry Department to whom I could join.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I receive 500 euro/month.
What is the student lifestyle like in Valencia?
It is bustling, busy, funny and enjoyable.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Valencia to other students?
Yes, definitely, Valencia is wonderful. You can make great friendships here.
What is the food like?
It is very Mediterranean, lots of seafood, lots of salads, but it suits me, I love them.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Valencia?
No.
How much does it cost to live in Valencia?
It's about 300 euro/month.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
I didn't have time to continue my Spanish studies, but I noticed some improvement in my Spanish this way, too.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Valencia from your city?
by plane.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Valencia?
I prefer less noisy nights, so I would go for a walk in the Jardin de Turia.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
City of Arts and Sciences, the old parts, the Market, the Cathedral, PLaza de la Reina
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Valencia in the future?
if you come around the beginning of March, don't miss the Fallas, but bring earplugs, so you can sleep.
