Erasmus Experience in Valencia, Spain by enza
Why did you choose to go to Valencia, Spain?
I Chose for Valencia, because I knew that the weather there was great. I also knew that Valencia was cheaper than Madrid and Bercelona. Why Valencia? For the sun, sea, people and the parties :)
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I received a scholarship for 4 months. (I receive aproximately 300 euro per month)
What is the student lifestyle like in Valencia?
It's really great! The people here are amazing. They are friendly and open. What I really appreciated is that you can go for free at the discotheques and the fact that they are many erasmus offices that organize nice trips for cheap prices (Andalucia, madrid, Peniscola, Barcelona, Portugal,...)
Would you recommend the city and the University of Valencia to other students?
ABSOLUTELY!
What is the food like?
The food is really fresh and tasty. I didn't go to a lot of restaurants, so I don't know a lot of Spanish dishes (Paella, bocadillos and tapas).
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Valencia?
No, I reserved my accomodation from Belgium through a website, but in Valencia there are a lot of flats and rooms to rent, so it's really easy to find one.
How much does it cost to live in Valencia?
it doesn't cost a lot compared to other European cities. You need aproximately 280 euros for your flat. The food is really cheap and the parties are free. So, really you don't need a lot of money.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
In the beginning it is a litlle bit difficult, because Spanish people speak really fast, but after 3 weeks you will get more in touch with the language.

By flight with Ryanair.

The city centre and Blasco Ibanez. On facebook, every day, you will find free lists for discotheques and erasmus activities.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Valencia?

The city centre, the turia, the beach,... I will recommend to visit Andalucia and Peniscola.
