Why did you choose to go to Valencia, Spain?

It was a coincidence because it was the only place where I found this kind of an internship but I didn't regret going there one bit. Valencia is an amazing, beautiful and modern place. In my opinion, it was designed mainly for students and young people.

What is the student lifestyle like in Valencia?

I wasn't studying in Valencia but during the holidays, apart form great Spanish people, you can also meet a lot of foreign trainees in Valencia and party in a lot of places (some with terraces).

I would recommend the Language Exchange where you get can find native speakers of many languages and meet interesting people as well.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Valencia to other students?

I would definitely recommend the beautiful city. Sadly though, I don't know about the university.

What is the food like?

Generally the food is lighter than in different countries I think. People eat salads and all varieties of pasta and concerning local stuff, I really loved gazpacho and paella and you should try a typical Valencian drink Horchata!

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Valencia?

No, I found accomodation here and later, I moved in with my new friends.

How much does it cost to live in Valencia?

Accommodation is around 250€ with bills but you can totally find more expensive and luxurious places as well as cheaper ones.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available in the University?

I didn't have any language preparation before and now I understand some Spanish. I think it is one of the easier languages and a very nice one as well.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel in Valencia?

The best way is to buy Valenbici card and go by bike everywhere, it costs less than 30 € for a year (if I remember well) and you can use the card also for tram and metro (as in buy some rides on the card).

Tram and metro are the second best way but they don't go everywhere, for example the City of Arts and Sciences.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Valencia?

There are many language exchange parties organized in Valencia which I think are good.

For meeting your friends for a drink I recommend Plaza del Cedro. The clubs I can recommend are:

  • Umbracle.
  • High Cube.
  • Las Animas.
  • Caribbean.
  • LA3.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

City of Arts and Sciences, Veles e Vents, the River (former river, now a park).
