Why did you decide to go to Valencia, Spain?
The weather, the people, the language! Everything is amazing here!
How long was your scholarship? How much grant money did you receive?
10 months, but it does depend on the university. From IUAV we received €230 a month.
How was student life in Valencia?
Fantastic! There were so many other Erasmus students and as a student you could find anything you need.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Valencia to other students?
Yes of course!
What’s the food like in Spain?
You can eat very well in Spain. I would definitely recommend trying the traditional Valencian cuisine!
Was it difficult to find accomodation in Valencia?
No, there were so many options. The first few days I was a bit worried that I wouldn't find a nice apartment, but in the end it was pretty easy.
Does it cost much to live in Valencia?
It's cheaper than living in Italy. Of course you can go there and spend loads of money, but if you're thrifty it won't be expensive at all.
How was the language? Did you attend any courses at the university?
There are free language courses provided by the university. Spanish isn't very difficult.
What’s the cheapest way to get to Valencia from your city?
Low cost flights.
Where are the best places to go out in Valencia?
Plaza del Cedro, Plaza Honduras or Barrio del Carmen!
And eating in Valencia? What are your favourite places?
For Valencian paella, Casa Clemencia in Benimaclet, and La Pasquala on the seafront, where you can eat horse meat for a decent price!
And for a cultural visit?
The museums in the city centre! Also the Valencia Romana ruins.
Any advice you want to give to future students going to Valencia?
Enjoy every second you spend in the paradise that is Valencia!
