Vaasa...so many memories!

I really recommend Vaasa as the city for your exchange period. It's a small place, but you always find the way to have fun there! When the winter comes it's quite cold, but it is not an impediment to ride your bike... even to go out during the nights!

The Erasmus people live in residences, the most common ones are Tekla II, Linna and Olympia, but mostly the first two. But if you are looking for quiet and relaxed places, these are not your ideal places!

The party starts on Tuesdays, going to Oliver's Inn, where you can ask for songs. Then, it continues on Wednesdays, when everybody go to a pub called Hullu Pullu, that has all the drinks at 2€. On Fridays and Saturdays the most common plan is to either go to Fontana or Sky and sometimes to Royal. If you are not tired enough on Sunday, some people go again to Hullu Pullu, but the party environment is not the same as the other days!

Almost everything is around the city center, it's near the University and all the clubs and clothes shops are around there. Also one of the biggest supermarkets is there, as well as one of the Alko Shops. Finland has a very restrictive politics about alcohol, it can just be sold in that special shops that have a restricted timetable and they are very estrict about asking your ID to be sure that you are over 18.

The university will asign an international tutor that will help you mostly during the first days, they even come to take you from the airport. So, in that sense, you don't need to worry about feeling lost at the very beginning. I hope you will have so much fun and have so many good memories as I do.
