Why did you choose to go to Vaasa, Finland?

I had already been in Helsinki and I loved it so I decided to find more about this beautiful country!

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I've been there for 4 months and my university helped a little bit.

What is the student lifestyle like in Vaasa?

The university campus is great, tutors are really helpful and involves you in parties etc.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Vaasa to other students?

Yes!

What is the food like?

You can find food from all over Europe in supermarkets and restaurants.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Vaasa?

You have to be quick sending your request to VOAS (at least 3 months before you arrive). They rent apartments mainly to students. Otherwise you'll have to ask help to your tutor.

How much does it cost to live in Vaasa?

I live in Italy and life in Finland is more expensive.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Finnish I think is one of the most difficult language in Europe, you can follow a basic course at the university, it is done especially for exchange students.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Vaasa from your city?

I live in Udine, Italy and the only way to go there is by plane, I had to change plane at least once to get there (Venice-Riga-Vaasa).

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Vaasa?

Hullu Pullo is the best place to go I think.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Vaasa?

Rosso.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Vanhaa Vaasa, the old city.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Vaasa in the future?

Just have fun!
