What is it like to live in Thessaloniki? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Thessaloniki is the best town to live in, especially if you are a student. Prices are lower for students, there's a lot of stuff to do, lots of places to visit and entertain yourself(clubs, museums, art galleries, seminars, exhibitions, parties, tavernas, restaurants, malls, shops etc.).

What is the student lifestyle like in Thessaloniki?

Students can spend time in different ways everyday, they can have fun all the time, meet new students on the road, in the coffee shopes, even in the supermarket. There are places where students gather and have fun meeting new people, drinking wine and eating. Apart from the entertainment part you can meet Greece's culture, archeology and history.

How much does it cost to live in Thessaloniki?

Life is cheap for students in Thessaloniki. You get discounts on everything, even on your food.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Thessaloniki? Is there any advice you can give?

You can go to Real Estate, they are everywhere, and they can help you. If you don;t want their help, just go around the houses and look for a renting sign. They will be everywhere, especially in the center.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is quit good. Ok, it is not Italian Cuisine, but it is as tasty, and Greek people love eating so they try hard. Gyros is the most popular dish, moysakas, pizzas. You should try traditional food, you can find it everywhere as long as you ask.

What places would you recommend visiting in Thessaloniki?

Museums, Plateia Aristotelous, Kamara, the White Tower, Valaoritou for clubbing, Bit Bazar for drinking wine and eating(it's full of students), Kastra.

Is it good to eat out in Thessaloniki? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, you can find food in every street. Plateia Aristotelous, Kamara, Sokratis in Harilaou, Sabbikos

Is the nightlife good in Thessaloniki? Where is good to go?

Very good! Valaoritou, by the port, Dogs, Markiz, J'adour, The Bastards bar, La rosa negra, Manhattan, Bedroom, Casper. If you are more an alternative type you could go to the Aristotele university in the night and chill there with other students. Students organise many parties there.

What advice would you give future students heading to Thessaloniki?

Go for it! It is an amazing experience. You will love it! I have spoken to students from other countries who study in tThessaloniki and they are all really pleased.
