What is it like to live in Thessaloniki? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
The city is really beautiful with hidden treasures. Public transportation is a bit bad , but it does the work , although it's never on time. The city though is spectacular , the landscapes are great. You can reach Chalkidiki's beaches by bus during summer , and you can visit a lot mountains for ski during the winter.
What is the student lifestyle like in Thessaloniki?
Students have a lot of things to do. The campus is downtown, so you can go anywhere by feet. A lot of coffee places and food places are on low budget , but offer great food. Nightlife is vivid. You can go out for a wine/beer at 9 , and you can continue all night at clubs , pubs and music stages till really early in the morning.
How much does it cost to live in Thessaloniki?
Students rent is approximately 300-350 per month (maximum prices) , supermarket is approximately 150 , bus cards 15-30/month , gas -electricity-water-internet 150/per 2 months. For 200 more , you can have a lux life.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Thessaloniki? Is there any advice you can give?

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
There is an excellent Mediterranean cuisine. Greek food is delicious , bakeries offer pastries all day. Someone definitely needs to try the following : Tyropita , Mpougatsa with creme or cheese , Koulouri , Mousaka , Pastitsio . For more vegetarian dishes I recommend Fasolakia , tourlou , briam , sarmadakia
What places would you recommend visiting in Thessaloniki?
Old city at Castra for a unique city view from above.
White tower , for some city history
Archaeological Museum , and the Warriors Museum
Walk through the new beach path .
Aristotelous square
Panorama city for more luxury and romantic views.
Chortiatis mountain for walks through the forest and special meat dishes.

The food is delcious!
Fot Italian downtown I prefer Basilico (Nikis bulevard)
Brunch Estrella or Spoon (Pavlou mela)
Breakfast in any local bakery
Fresh juices and salads in Kritiko Perivolli (Navarinou square)
Savvikos for meat lovers in Aristotelous
For best Gyro , Prassas , in Markou Botsari
Best crepe in town , Iliovasilema in Stefanou Gymnasiarchi and Navarino in Navarinou square
Any local tavern has some vegetarian dishes .
Is the nightlife good in Thessaloniki? Where is good to go?
Nightlife is great.
Valaoritou region is a place where all pubs and clubs are near each other and you van have a great variety of choices. I love Manoir , La dose , Thermaikos bar and Block 33.
What advice would you give future students heading to Thessaloniki?
Have fun , let go , don;t be stresses and take it easy. In Thessaloniki we let go a bit , we take is " Halara" and we don;t like to be stressed. Drink a freddo espresso during summer , enjoy the sun , and show the locals that you love their city in order to have kind gestures.
