What is it like to live in Thessaloniki? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

It's a city big enough (the second biggest in Greece after Athens), with a lot of students. There is one centre where everyone is going out. It is near the sea and mountains. In a good position for travelling. I would recommend it to anyone without doubt. There is possibility for a lot of activities.

What is the student lifestyle like in Thessaloniki?

Full of students.

How much does it cost to live in Thessaloniki?

It dipends. Not much but not little. I think with 400-500 euros/month you can leave as a student very good (including the room and the expenses)

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Thessaloniki? Is there any advice you can give?

Difficult no. It is best on the centre of the city for not having any problem with the transportation at night (even though there are night buses). But there is a lot of traffic and rumor so even a bit further (in a region near centre) could be convenient.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

You can find all types of food.

What places would you recommend visiting in Thessaloniki?

At night, Valaoritou for beer, Rotonda for wine, at the universities for parties. The view from the castles is very beautiful. In summer you should definately go to Halkidiki for swimming. There is also museums, churces and historical places to visit.

What advice would you give future students heading to Thessaloniki?

You should definately choose it , if you want to entairtain yourself, have good time and learn a bit of the lifestyle of greeks.
