It's the perfect city for a student in Greece, big variety of cultural events, entertainment options and you can go everywhere on foot.

What is the student lifestyle like in Thessaloniki?

There are many many students in Thessaloniki and the lifestyle is tailored to their needs; plenty of bars, pubs and night clubs open till late morning, lots of places to eat all day and all night long and beautiful places to walk around. Generally it's very lively!

How much does it cost to live in Thessaloniki?

Not too much, comparing to other european cities. There are options for really cheap food and shopping;)

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Thessaloniki? Is there any advice you can give?

It is hard, regarding the fact that the buildings are very old. So, you should pay attention to the amenities of the house (the heating mainly)!

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

There are many options and in general the food is really cheap. Dishes that students prefer are pizza and souvlaki (traditional).

What places would you recommend visiting in Thessaloniki?

The seafront (for a walk)!

Is it good to eat out in Thessaloniki? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Eating out is very common, you can take a piece of pizza on the go (at Rotonta area or Navarinou street) or go for dinner at several places depending your taste!

Is the nightlife good in Thessaloniki? Where is good to go?

Yes, there are areas full of night clubs and bars, like Valaoritou or Ladadika area and Olympou street.

What advice would you give future students heading to Thessaloniki?

Don't forget your sunglasses, get comfortable shoes and if you come in spring semester bring your swimsuit too, you never know;)
