What is it like to live in Thessaloniki? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I study here so my experience is really really good. The city combines the new with the old and the people here are so warm and friendly. You can find both good and quality food and even some gourmet dishes. I would totally recommend it since it is a student city and at the summer the nearby beaches are just wonderful!!

What is the student lifestyle like in Thessaloniki?

Oh it is a dream come true, since you can find ll kinds of music, food, people and of course places to go and see. I especially like a lot the new beach that has been given in public since 2013 and a walk there during unset is just so special.!

How much does it cost to live in Thessaloniki?

Thessaloniki is a place where you can find from really cheap to really expensive food and of course good quality as well. There are places like Valaoriou street where students go and it is really cheap but sine you are in Greece maybe you'll find some of the prices a bit expensive. Still there are places i prefer where you can find food fro only 2 euros (Kamara) and i totally recommend them.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Thessaloniki? Is there any advice you can give?

Generally speaking it is really easy to find an accommodation here, but you have to look really good at the apartment you want to rent since especially, in the city center, the block of flats are quite old and have some problems.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is just delicious and even if you find something cheap won't by any mean suggest that it will be bad. There are places like To Daylicious where you can chill and have a meal for 3-4 euros. My favorite dish of course is the triangles of Thessaloniki a cone shape sweet with white cream. You will find plenty of them and it is city's most known sweet.

What places would you recommend visiting in Thessaloniki?

The old city in Castle area in the North of the city is something that every student must visit and every romantic person would go(you will want to get married). Last but not least, the old port and Halkidiki are only some f the places to go!!

Is it good to eat out in Thessaloniki? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, it is really good and i go often with my friends because we like the quality of food and the prices as well. My favorite spot is ELIA & LEMONI where with only 10 euros per person you can eat really good and the quality is simply mind blowing. There you can see the chef actually preparing the dishes for you!

Is the nightlife good in Thessaloniki? Where is good to go?

I totally recommend Vlaoritoy street where you can find cheap drinks like wine and vodka and where all students go. I will meet you there if you go since i go a lot!. Other places can be found in the port of Thessaloniki but are a bit more expensive. Still the music and the people there will totally refund you.

What advice would you give future students heading to Thessaloniki?

Just enjoy it and don't stay only in Thessaloniki since all around you can find extremely beautiful places to go, beaches to swim and people to meet. Greeks are just full of surprises!!!!
