It is a very nice city.Not very big so it is easy to cover the distances by walking.You get a very energetic vibe living there and there are many opportunities to have a good time.

It is the best city in Greece for students since their population is quite large

It is not a very expensive city.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Thessaloniki? Is there any advice you can give?

Depending the period and the area.Most of the apartments in the city center are old and in bad condition so be careful.After September when university freshman students find their accommodation it becomes quite difficult.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Many Greek and more ethnic choices.

What places would you recommend visiting in Thessaloniki?

White tower,Aristotelous square, the castles, the boardwalk next to the port, Ladadika, Valaoritou

There is a whole area named Ladadika that is full of restaurants. So there are many choices there.
Also a restaurant called Elia lemoni

There is a whole area called Valaoritou which offers many opportunities for clubbing and having a good time.

What advice would you give future students heading to Thessaloniki?

Enjoy your stay and before you go make sure that at least you speak English. Also make a good research about accommodation in the city.
