Why did you choose to go to Thessaloniki, Greece?
Because I had been studying greek for 3 years and I wanted to live in Greece, but I didn't want to live in Athens.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
It was a 10 month scholarship. I received aproximately 210 € per month,
What is the student lifestyle like in Thessaloniki?
A greek student goes to class (not on time, but he goes) and they are serious. Erasmus students use to party a lot. There are a lot of choices because ESN prepare things for them,
Would you recommend the city and the University of Thessaloniki to other students?
Yes. But in several of them they only speak greek, as it happens in my own case, that I studied Architecture.
What is the food like?
They like a lot cheeses, salads, eggplants, and meat.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Thessaloniki?
It is really easy to find house or bedroom in this city.
How much does it cost to live in Thessaloniki?
around 400€ per month if you decide to have lunch and dinner at the university's "restaurant" which is free. Including the rent of the house..
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
There are free language courses but only few students can reach them. Like 25 people per class. Greek is not very easy.
