Why did you choose to go to Thessaloniki, Greece?

Because here I could speak always in English with the other erasmus and also because it was cheaper than other cities.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

It was for 5 months and I received 400€ more per months from my family.

What is the student lifestyle like in Thessaloniki?

Really amazing! It is a really easy life and without problems. :)

Χαλαρά is the priority. It means like "keep calm".

Would you recommend the city and the University of Thessaloniki to other students?

Yes, of course. The city is not really interesting (maybe for its architecture) and it is not the most beautiful city but, it offers you so much fun and nightlife. It is also close to wonderful beaches (like in half/one hour!).

What is the food like?

The foods is so various and delicious, of course so tasty!

How much does it cost to live in Thessaloniki?

Really low costs to live!

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Greek naturally is not easy but AUTH university offered a course of basic greek language.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Thessaloniki from your city?

I think it is the ferry from the south of Italy.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Thessaloniki?

Of course and whitout doubts to Valoritou and Ladadika.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Thessaloniki?

There are a lot of Tavernas, they are the typical restaurants here, the most of them are good. I can recommend, if you want eat italian food, a cheap and good restaurant. It called Street food Italia.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

  1. The White Tower
  2. The Upper city "Ano Poli"
  3. The port
  4. The Aristotle square and romanic forum.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Thessaloniki in the future?

Enjoy your time here, the city will be unexpected!
