Why did you choose to go to Thessaloniki, Greece?
Thessaloniki is not my first choice. But,between Thessaloniki and Madrid I prefer Thessaloniki because of culture and language.
Greece is ancient country with many of old architecture remained. The culture is combination of asia and europe because of its location near Turki.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I got scholarship for 6months. 1000euro is more than enough for living in Thessaloniki.
What is the student lifestyle like in Thessaloniki?
talking about student lifestyle is not different with other europe country. But for me for asian of course is very different. Party of course and more crazy in Thessaloniki. I like spend my sparetime for shopping, cafe and travelling....:)
Would you recommend the city and the University of Thessaloniki to other students?
Of course yes.
What is the food like?
The food is dominated with salad, meet, seefood and of course bread.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Thessaloniki?
its easy to find accommodation in Thessaloniki. There are a lots of choice from cheep until expensive. living together in 1 apartment is cheeper than living private in studio.
How much does it cost to live in Thessaloniki?
500euro is enough for accommodation,and daily needs.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
the local language is greek, for me its difficult. Yes, they offer free language course for erasmus student.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Thessaloniki from your city?
Bus
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Thessaloniki?
Cafe and Bar
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Thessaloniki?
There are a lots of restaurant near the see, white tower and of course my favorite restaurant in ladadika.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
you have to visit white tower. it is the iconic monuments for Thessaloniki.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Thessaloniki in the future?
Just enjoying your live in Thessaloniki. Study of course but playing and traveling explore Greece is important too
