Why did you choose to go to Thessaloniki, Greece?

I wanted to experience the Greek culture and spend a semester somewhere in southern Europe.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I recieved 310 euros for 4 months

What is the student lifestyle like in Thessaloniki?

The usual erasmus student in Thessaloniki parties a lot, sleeps a lot. Drinks frappe and goes to Halkidiki to experience the beautiful Greek beaches and warm sun. However, if you want to experience something more you can do so. I have attended ballet and contemporary dance classes, joined a German speaking drama club, signed up for courses of an other department and studied about contemporary cinema, etc. Possibilities are endless, but you have to go after it.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Thessaloniki to other students?

Yes.

What is the food like?

I love Greek food, so it was delicious.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

You can apply for the EILC course.
The language is not an easy one but it is managable once you get the hang of it.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Thessaloniki from your city?

There was a direct flight from Budapest with WIZZ.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Thessaloniki?

A pub called Berlin.
