How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

The scholarship was for 5 months and I received 800 euros/month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Thessaloniki?

Thessaloniki has 3 big universities. Aristotle University of Thessaloniki alone has 80,000 students. So Thessaloniki is a student city. The city has students all over and it’s full of life.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Thessaloniki to other students?

Yes, definitely.

What is the food like?

There is so much variety in the food. All types of cuisine are available and there is a great price range.

For example, you can find pizza for 1 euro and steaks for 100 euros.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Thessaloniki?

No, I found it online.

How much does it cost to live in Thessaloniki?

It depends, but usually between 230-500 euros.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes to both.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Thessaloniki from your city?

The best way is to fly to Athens and then take a night train to Thessaloniki.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Thessaloniki?

Walk along the seaside, as there are so many places you can sit in.

I would recommend the White Tower and Upper City.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Thessaloniki in the future?

Yes, there is so much theft, so be careful (especially Kamara area). But other than that, it’s a perfect city for students.
