Why did you choose to go to Thessaloniki, Greece?

I always loved Greece, its language, food, coffee...

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

At the moment it's only for 6 months, but I will make it longer for sure.

What is the student lifestyle like in Thessaloniki?

It's very vivid, it's a student city, there's students and activities for students everytime.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Thessaloniki to other students?

The university has a free cafe that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner for free, 7 days a week for all the students of the campus.

What is the food like?

Mediterranean food it's always very nice. A lot of cheese and meat and very nice salads.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Thessaloniki?

This year seems to be hard, I had some problems to find a place, and I think my flat is quite expensive compared with others (there's people paying 190 euros per month all included), that kind of flats are taken very fast, also seems that greek people doesn't like to rent flats for short periods of time (less than 2 years), and that makes the search a little bit more difficult.

How much does it cost to live in Thessaloniki?

Not much, if you are student you get discounts for practically everything. Free entrance to museums, half price for ticket transport, free food of the student restaurant... It is possible to live with less than 500 euros per month if you are careful.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The online course offered by the university was very nice. The presential one I don't recomend it. I am only taking it for the grade. But there's places near Kamara where to study Greek 4 hours a week for 10 euros per month.
