Living in Rome is a contrasting experience. The city is beautiful, however there are some problems, such as traffic and public transport. Nevertheless, it's a worthy experience and you could learn a lot. I suggest trying it.

What is the student lifestyle like in Rome?

There are lots of universities in Rome so it's full of students. However, it's also a big city, so everyone goes out in different places. There are some areas where students prefer to go out. Nightlife is quite good. Regarding studying, Rome offers lots of opportunities, such as public library and so on.

How much does it cost to live in Rome?

The cost of life in Rome is overall not so cheap, but it depends very much on the zone one chooses. Near universities and in some places such as the historical centre it can be very high, but generally it's affordable.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Rome? Is there any advice you can give?

It's not so difficult to find accommodation in Rome because lots of people move in and out, so in almost every period you could find a room. The price of a room changes depending on the area you choose. Near universities it can be very high. I suggest choosing an area which is not so close to your uni but much more affordable. However, in that case, you have to pay a season ticket for public transport, which is not so good, especially buses.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is very good. You can find a great range of dishes, from the classic Italian ones to food coming from other countries (such as Greek food). My fav dish is (obviously) pizza, but in Rome they make it differently. If you want to taste a good one, you have to ask for Neapolitan mixture.

What places would you recommend visiting in Rome?

Every corner is beatiful. Do not visit only the touristy ones, get around, get lost in its beauty.

Is it good to eat out in Rome? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes it is especially if you are with friends. I don't have favourite spots, I like trying a new one each time and its beautiful that Rome allows this. You never got bored.

Is the nightlife good in Rome? Where is good to go?

Nightlife is quite good in Rome and you have planty of chance. If you want a drink and to chat with your friends, go in Trastevere or Campo De' Fiori. If you want a disco, try one in the city center, so you can use public transport. Try to avoid San Lorenzo, lots of students go there but it's not so safe.

What advice would you give future students heading to Rome?

Enjoy every minute, do not have prejudice, respect the city and it's history and make memories.
