What is it like to live in Rome? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
You will not get bored of Rome until you do not have discovered every single corner of the city. And this will take time. You will feel to be part one of the most beautiful place on Earth.
What is the student lifestyle like in Rome?
Cool. You will have fun. You will satisfy your different requests. Night life, culture, party, cinema, concerts: you will have all of this.
How much does it cost to live in Rome?
It is not a cheap city. But it depends on where are you come from. For being such a historical European capita, l you can afford almost everything, depending on your budget. Avoid touristic places. There are discounted fees for a student in museums and other attractions.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Rome? Is there any advice you can give?
It is not difficult but try to look in advance and not at the last moment. There are different possibilities from B&B to hostels and hotels. Try to find something well connected with the metro or bus.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
The food is amazing. Try a different kind of pasta (carbonara and amatriciana are top), pizza, meat, salads. Everything is made with passion and first quality ingredients. Follow the crowd and ask to Roman people where to go eating. Try to avoid tourist restaurants, they are expensive and not always good.
What places would you recommend visiting in Rome?
Archeological sites such as Fori Imperiali, San Pietro with the Vatican, historical neighborhoods as Trastevere, have a walk along the Tevere and let the city guide you around its streets.
Is it good to eat out in Rome? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Roman food is one of the best things ever. Try the typical Roman cousin restaurants. There are plenty all around the city. Try to avoid the touristic spots. Go for a pizza too. You will easily find your spot.
Is the nightlife good in Rome? Where is good to go?
The nightlife in Rome is really cool. You can hang out around in the center, have a drink in Monti, Trastevere, Testaccio. Those areas are full of clubs, restaurants, and bars.
What advice would you give future students heading to Rome?
Just go and try to visit as many spots as possible. Avoid touristic places for eating.
