There are many archeologic sights to visit and probably you will leave without seeing them all.

Also the italians are very open and friendly.

Of course studies are your first thought but also interacting with new students from all over the world is important to make your stay in Rome special.

How much does it cost to live in Roma?

It is a little expensive but if you organize there are piazza's where to buy fruit and vegetables at better prices than in supermarkets.

The transpoatation fee is acceptable 35€ per month and it is valid for subway and bus or trams.

There are many places where students can eat: slice af pizza or kebab or pasta dish or salads also american fast food such as Mc Donalds and also PUBS where to see soccer games or the Olimpic stadium to see a live game.

A little expensive are the rents of appartments for students. better an area near the metro stop.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Roma? Is there any advice you can give?

I'm sure there are many web sites for students rentals. Also you can find notes at university with rentals information.

Also real estate agencies such as "Solo affitti".

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food in Italy is fantastic although there are many restaurants for tourists and they serve you frozen dishes.

The pizza is a must its special if you find a pizzeria fire oven so its directly cooked on wood fire.

Local dishes i suggest are pasta alla gricia, cacio e pepe, spaghetti alla carbonara, artichoke alla giudea, cicorie ripassate straccetti alla rughetta.

What places would you recommend visiting in Roma?

All Rome should be visited: Colosseum, Foro Romano, palatino, Domus Aurea, basilica San Giovanni, Trastevere and the curch of Santa Maria in Trastevere, the Vatican, monte dei cocci at Testaccio, the romans acquedotto, palazzo Massimo for the mosaics, le terme di Diocleziano, i Mercati di Traiano, the Pantheon and many piazzas such as piazza Navona, piazza di Spagna and Trevi fountain, piazza del Popolo and also the catecombs of the roman persecuted cristians, quartiere ebraico, isola Tiberina and so on.

It is best to go in small trattorie better to ask to the residence there have been a great deal of restaurants for tourits opening recently.

Is the nightlife good in Roma? Where is good to go?

Most students go to piazza Trilussa in Trastevere, but also at Campo dei Fiori or San Lorenzo wich is an university area close to university La Sapienza. Lots of students live there becouse the rental prices are lower and university is at walking distance, also Monti is becoming a "movida" area.

What advice would you give future students heading to Roma?

Always watch for pickpockets on transportation give the normal attention that usually you have in large cities such as London, New York, Berlin.... always walk in well lighted zones at night never cross parks at night. Don't carrie too much cash at same time.

Just be normally careful and every thing will be ok.
