Why did you choose to go to Rome, Italy?
Rome is a fantastic city, it wasnt my first choice to do my erasmus, but definitly I am really happy of coming here. Rome is incredible and thanks to Erasmus life I can learn another language!
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
the scholarhip is one year and they are giving me 330€ each month to pay the apartment but here you will pay more for the flat, its really expensive! The rooms are huge but the Price if you want to live alone are more o less 400-500 €each month
What is the student lifestyle like in Rome?
Rome isa huge city, we have many opportunities to do different things, we also have erasmus organizzation and they always do differents activities, every week you wont be bored here!
Would you recommend the city and the University of Rome to other students?
As I´ve said before the city is incredible, the organization of the universities no so much, you have to wait a lot until they give you some answer and you have to insist,its a crazy thing
What is the food like?
well, I´m living in a flat so we cook different things, here if you want to go outside to eat the tipical food is pasta, pizza, suppli... the meat and the fish is really expensive and we usually ear salad, chicken, vegetables, eggs... we dont usually go outside because is really expensive!
But we also have in some university the "mensa" is a place that you eat really well, you can choose and it only cost 3€!I recomend it if you come
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Rome?
No, we spoke with people of last year and we took the same flat
How much does it cost to live in Rome?
Live in Rome is really expensive, we pay 450€ for the flat and them we have to pay food too, the transport is 250€ all year and you can take any public transport
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
At first you will be lost but if you go to clases in 2 month you will understand more or less everything. The universities give you some course to improve your italian or just to start knowing it, you have to do it because it is worth
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Rome from your city?
The economical way is the plane, you arrive in few hours
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Rome?
The night in Rome is incredible! Sometimes we go outside with Erasmus organizzation and they really give extraordinaries parties if you like reaggeton you should go! If you go to other disco you will Heard english music, and if you dont like discos you shhould go to San Lorenzo, the enviroment is amazing, you can get a beer and see how italian people enjoy, in this district they are a lot of italian
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Rome?
We are Erasmus and its clear that we havent a lot of money, that´s why we are always looking at the cheapest restaurant. There is a really cheap restaurant at trastevere that you can eat really well and the Price are really cheap, the name of this restaurant is Carlomenta
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Rome is full of cultural sites, you should come and check it with your own eyes
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Rome in the future?
if you have the opportunity to come, you should do it, this life is incredible, dont be worry about the language because you will undertand really soon.
