It depends on where do you want to live exactly (in the city center or not), but globally it's around 800 a month.

Try to find a real estate agency before coming to Rennes that can do the research for you. There are many agencies in Rennes that have a website.

I personally like to eat different cuisines when I go out, and in Rennes you can find almost all the world's cuisines.

Is the nightlife good in Rennes? Where is good to go?

The nightlife is good, nevertheless after 1:00 a. m. all the public transportation stop working. I recommend the Museum and the Theatro.

What advice would you give future students headed to Rennes?
