Sunset Bar

The Sunset Bar is situated some minutes by car away from Puerto de la Cruz. You can get there by taxi for about 12 euros or with a car you’ve rented, but there’s no bus or way to walk up. The city next to it is called “Santa Úrsula” – so it might be possible to get there by bus and walk the rest of the way, but I’ve never tried that. After the arrival you have to get down a very steep path (it’s a street, so it’s not dangerous) or wait for the shuttle service to bring you down.

The bar has its name because it’s situated in the mountains and you have a perfect view at the valley and the part of the sea were the sun sets each evening. So you can enjoy your cocktail and watch the sunset – a very romantic atmosphere!

The place is decorated in an Asian/Indonesian style with Buddha statues, a lot of wood and nice furniture. There are 3 different areas: one is with sunbeds (you should call and reserve a place, they are quite famous) where you can lie down comfortably and enjoy the view, something to drink and some nice food. Another one is the area beyond the sunbeds. It’s decorated with small tables right next to the handrail and has the best view in the whole bar. Another area is a bit more upstairs with tables that are more suitable to have food because they are bigger. There is also a small part of tables in the sand which improves the beach and sunset atmosphere and especially at quite warm days it’s just great!

In the bar you can have finger food like nachos with guacamole or mozzarella sticks if you are not too hungry. But they also offer pasta, salads and other great dishes which are not too expensive. If you are not hungry, you will find a large variety of cocktails and other drinks in order to enjoy your evening.

So even if the taxi might be a bit expensive it’s totally worth to visit the Sunset Bar once to experience that amazing view and some nice cocktails.
