Pequeño Buddha

The Pequeño Buddha is a Shisha and Cocktail bar in the heart of Puerto de la Cruz. It’s situated some minutes from Plaza de Charco and is a very nice place. There are almost no places inside, most of the tables and sofas are situated in the “patio” – the square behind the house. It’s beautiful, decorated with Indian stuff and exotic plants and most of the time it’s quite warm there because there is no wind.

In the bar you can either smoke a shisha or only have some drinks with your friends. They also have a billiard table and a table soccer to play for little money. During summertime a lot of young Spanish people can be found there and improve the atmosphere a lot, even if it’s quite loud then. They offer a large menu of impressing drinks, cocktails and some small snacks. For example, I tried a drink that is composed of Gin, Tonic and a very aromatic kind of tea with berry flavour. It didn’t only smell great, it also tasted amazing! And usually I don’t like Gin at all. But it was like iced tea and one could hardly taste alcohol.

The prices in the bar are okay, a cocktail usually costs about €5, soft drinks and beer about €1, 50 or 2. During autumn and wintertime when the young tourists are not there anymore it’s a bit empty during the week and you really have to go there late to meet anyone. But if you are a group of people and don’t care about others in the bar you can go there earlier, too, of course. But I would recommend visiting Pequeño Buddha during the weekend, mainly on Fridays.
