It is proper student city. The city centrum is not big and around it are all the pubs where students meet. You can be sure everytime you go to those places even randomly, you meet the people you know.

What is the student lifestyle like in Plzen?

There is many student places with cheap alcohol, also every dorm has its own. Pilsen in general is cheap, so for students it is easy to live also on a budget.

How much does it cost to live in Plzen?

I lived there 3 years ago, but I do not think much changed. For a shared room the price is around 2800-3000 CZK. Beer is 25-30 CZK. Meal at the restaurant can be around 80 CZK during the lunch hours and 120 outside of lunch hours.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Plzen? Is there any advice you can give?

You can apply for the dormitory or ask them about the student flats.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Czech food is very heavy and not very healthy, but it goes great with beers.

Is it good to eat out in Plzen? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

I usually do not eat out, I eat at the university canteen, where by the way the meal does not cost more than 40 CZK. But sometimes I eat at Šenk, a typical czech restaurant at the centre or I like also Polivkarna. they have great soups there.
