My first month: Philadelphia

I arrived on June 22nd, 2015 to NY, and I took a bus to the place where I would live for the following 3 months: Allentown. I was allocated in Cedar Crest College, a female college that happened to be on holidays, so the residence was rented to the amusement park I worked at, and the staff, people in their twenties from all over the world, lived there.

By the way, I worked as a ride operator in Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom. That's an experience I will never forget, as I met so many cool people and worked really hard to pay my trips! But that's other story.

The first big city I went to was Philadelphia. I wasn't scheduled for the 4th July and with other 4 friends we rented a car and drove there. It took us a bit more than an hour. I didn't really know what to expect from it, as I only knew that it was the place where the Fresh Prince was brought up, haha.

I simply loved it. It is a mixure between a big important city and a small town. They have all these ancient buildings (the Town Hall where the Declarations of Rights had been signed, the Liberty Bell, a quite interesting Masonic Temple... ) but also some impressive skyscrapers and wide avenues and squares, not to mention the Philadelphia Museum of Art, better known for its stairs, which Rocky climbs up while training! Of course, we took several pics.

We had a great time going shopping and watching the citizens decorate their streets with the USA flag everywhere, celebrating their National Day. We even had a bath in one of the fountains. It was so hot.

We also ate the famous Cheesesteak, it was such a delicious sandwich with meat and cheese (I still dream about it), the most famous dish in Philly. We had it in a very famous spot, Carmen's. It is located at Reading Terminal Market, and even Obama paid a visit to it. Totally worth it!

We ended up visiting South Street, a more humble part of the city, but full of life. I bought a vintage Adidas t-shirt and we hung around for a drink. The visit to Philly was a 10!
