Why did you choose to go to Pecs, Hungary?

I wanted to study Architecture in other countries and travel.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I did not have a scholarship. I would have only attended for the spring 2020 semester.

What is the student lifestyle like in Pecs?

Very warm and all the study-abroad students were friendly and helpful.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Pecs to other students?

I would highly recommend the University of Pecs to other students. Except for the Corona-Virus situation. I loved the Professors and the campus.

What is the food like?

Very different from America, but I adapted quickly. The food was excellent and I was able to eat very well on a limited budget.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Pecs?

It did not cost me anything. I found a flat that I rented and I was very comfortable and happy there.

How much does it cost to live in Pecs?

I spent $500.00 a month on rent, food, and transportation.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Hungarian is a very hard language to learn, but my professors were very proficient in English and I did very well in my classes.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Pecs from your city?

I flew to Budapest from USA and then took the train to the city of Pecs.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Pecs?

The Main Square, it was full of life and fun. I never felt uneasy or scared.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Pecs?

Granos Pizza, Soul Kitchen were my absolute favorites.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Cella Septichora night tour, many churches, and I joined the hiking club of Pecs.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Pecs in the future?

Don't listen to any of the hype about study-abroad being to expensive. Hungary is the perfect location to travel to many locations and as a student you will enjoy yourself immensely.
