Why did you choose to go to Pecs, Hungary?
Because I wanted to visit the center and the east of Europe. I choosed Hungary by elimination
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I didn't get a scholarship from my university or my region
What is the student lifestyle like in Pecs?
There is a big population of young people, so Pécs has a real community and a student life
Would you recommend the city and the University of Pecs to other students?
Yes of course, it's a beautiful city with cultural places to visit and also bars, clubs, many places for party
What is the food like?
I didn't really like the food, except the Goulash soup, with paprika and beef. It's mostly plates with sauce and meat so not very my taste
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Pecs?
It was pretty easy, I talked with some girls on Facebook nefore going to Pécs and together we found a place
How much does it cost to live in Pecs?
It's cheaper than France, of course, I would say around 400€ and 500€ per month (it depends if you want to travel or not)
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Hungarian is so difficult... But many people talk in English so it's ok. I had courses in English but you can get Hungarian courses at the faculty of you want to
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Pecs from your city?
I would say by plane, it's not so expensive, from Budapest.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Pecs?
You have to go to the Pecsi Est Cafe! Every Wednesday there are Buisness Parties, and all the Erasmus are going. But my favorite club is the Amper Club, if you like electro and techno music this place is for you.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Pecs?
All the restaurant of the center are good, really.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
You have to visit the Basilic St Pierre, very beautiful inside. I visited the Museum Vasarely, it was ok. You can visit the Mosque and of course the TV Torony, on the hills of the city
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Pecs in the future?
Enjoy Pécs! Enjoy Hungary!
