What is it like to live in Parma? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Parma is an amazing Italian city, mainly famous for its culinary masterpieces such as the Parmesan cheese, Parma ham, and so many other less famous but even more delicious products.

But Parma is way much more than that. Time here just goes slower than any other place in Europe, it seems to have stopped a couple of centuries ago: when you walk through the city centre you can hear lyric singers rehearse or people playing piano in these beautiful Italian style surrounding.

And this is just the city center!.....

What is the student lifestyle like in Parma?

A bit boring if you are looking for crazy parties.

Perfect if you like art!

The best place on earth if you like eat and drink well!

How much does it cost to live in Parma?

For students in a single room in a shared flat it should be around 700-800 euro/month.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Parma? Is there any advice you can give?

It should not be difficult.

The advice is to check all the accommodation you find in the city centre, just go and explore: you never know what you could find!

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Capelletti (no else in the world can even barely compete), tortellini, lasagna... I could keep listing for a month!

Is it good to eat out in Parma? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Almost everywhere, the more traditional the better!

Is the nightlife good in Parma? Where is good to go?

Not good at all, but there is plenty of room for improvement and some people are trying to fill the gap!...it's definitely getting better but still a bit boring.

What advice would you give future students heading to Parma?

Sometimes people in Parma may seem to be a bit close and they tend to appear narrow-minded. That's definitely the drawback. Anyway do not get scared or else, they are lovely and generous people!
