Lifestyle in Parma is made for students. University offers a lot of space and services for each student.

How much does it cost to live in Parma?

Parma is not really cheap, but really worth it. Since there are a lot of students, the rent for a house is quite expensive.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Parma? Is there any advice you can give?

It is not difficult at all, I suggest you to share a floor with someone instead of taking a house only for yourself. The average price for a room is about 220 €/month.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Parma is the capital of ham, you have probably already heard about "Prosciutto di Parma" (Parma Ham). Other typical food are "tortelli" (Filled pasta, see the picture above), "tortellini" (another type of filled pasta), all other kind of cold cuts such as "culatello", "spalla cotta" ad more. Parma is a really good city for food!

What places would you recommend visiting in Parma?

I reccomend to visit Parco Ducale, is a really big park in the center of Parma, but also the city centre such as Piazza Garibadi. All the museums and the cities around Parma.

Is it good to eat out in Parma? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

It's really good to eat out in Parma, you can find places where with 20€ you can taste all the specialities of the city.

My favourite spots are "Tri sciochett" and "I Corrieri", but if you want you can also find places where to eat things from other regions due to the multicultural soul of Parma. In particular manypeople from the South moved to Parma and opened restaurants to serve their local products.

Is the nightlife good in Parma? Where is good to go?

Really good, a lot of places where to go. The city center is good until midnight, then you have to move outside the center to find clubs or other places to listen to music.
