Traveling North to South of France
Ouigo (train) and Ouibus (bus) are wonderful and affordable ways to travel through France. I have been North to South and back on several occasions. Although purchasing food isn't really an option (pack your own food and drinks), I don't feel like I am traveling second rate.
The bathrooms are clean and always filled with toilet paper (a commodity in a global recession causing poverty mantality to infliltrate the travel industry from housing to transportation to food). France is no exception in this phenomenon of unprecedented cheapness, so an inexpensive train ride without getting groped or running out of T.P. in a third-world style public bathroom at 1st-world prices is a real treat! I hate to drip dry when I've paid! Just don't drink train tap water...
Best prices are usually on a Tuesday; so if you are flexible, look at prices for the whole month / week. I have traveled from Paris all the way across the country for only 15 Euros!
