Paris is known as the city of love, the city of lights, the fashion capitol, the business hub and the place with one of the best cheese.

With the Eiffel tower as its icon, the city attracts millions of visitors every year, generating highly significant revenues by tourism. 

Touching on different characteristics in brief: 

Architecture and landscape

The city offers a variety of landscapes and architectural sites. Churches (Montmantre, , Pantheon, St. Michel Notre Dame and St. Chapelle etc.) building, the Eiffel Tower, places of historical significance (Arc de Triomphe), etc. The city is host to many beautiful places known worldwide.

Culture and customs

The French have well preserved their culture. The night life of Paris is soothing. The French are very particular about many things which matter to them culturally. 

Gastronomy

Cooking is a big deal and not something which is done in a hurry. So is eating. The French will not be the ones grabbing a sandwich over the sink before leaving the house in a hurry. Also, disrespecting or not liking the wine might raise some eyebrows, haha.

Entertainment 

Contemporary art has received significant contribution from France French movies are one of the best around the world. There are plenty of entertaining shows and events around the city.

Transport

People hold different views about the transport of the city. Paris is well connected but the trains are not often punctual.

Prices

Paris is one of the costliest cities in the world. For a single person, the monthly expenses would normally be around 1100 Euros per month while leading a somewhat simple lifestyle.

Weather

The weather of Paris has been heating up in the recent years. Often, the weather is unpredictable, changing frequently within a single day.

The city skies often look grey. This is the reason why some people joke that there is no need to apply a grey filter to the pictures.
