What is it like to live in Paris? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Paris is a beautiful city with breathtaking landscapes towards the outer zones. It is an expensive place, nonetheless you can still find some things to do for free. The only low point is lack of good family restaurants that serve halal food in a budget friendly fashion. I dont party so no clue about that.

What is the student lifestyle like in Paris?

Student life is a good experience. One is exposed to the rich multicultural heritage and by cooking at home, one can easily save money for travels. Paris is at a pivotal point in Europe which makes the surrounding countries like belgium, spain and italy easily accessible.

How much does it cost to live in Paris?

Apartments can be costly but the prices vary according to the arrondisments which are circular zones ( there are 20 of them) but there are a variety fo option like CROUS and Cite universitaire for students. The government also provides CAF ( financial aid for housing)

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Paris? Is there any advice you can give?

Yes, paris is notorious for its paperwork and finding an accomodation can be quite a nightmare. It is better to look for an accomodation or at least options beforehand.There are agencies that can do the searching for you and recommend available apartments for viewing, that can burn a hole in your pocket but it is not an impossible task. Everyone has had a different experience.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is amazing. The foie gras is a must have and for a cheese lover, this is a haven. There are all sorts of ethnic cuisines to suit the taste of everyone

What places would you recommend visiting in Paris?

I would recommend taking a sandeman tour on fridays, saturdays and sundays which will cover most of the landmarks but the grand mosque of paris is a must see along with sacre cour. I find the Eiffel tower a bit over rated

Is it good to eat out in Paris? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

It is good to eat out every once in a while.
Not a sports fan but biking is easy here.

Is the nightlife good in Paris? Where is good to go?

never experienced it

What advice would you give future students heading to Paris?

Learn French or have a basic knowledge of it. it will be useful for paperwork or else you will have to depend on someone for it.
