What is it like to live in Paris? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

it is really easy to live in Paris in my opinion as it is the capital, everything Is related to everything. you can get around really easily with all the transportation accommodations and get get great deals all around the city, especially if you are a student (discounts on transport, museums/cinema, stores and some restaurants)
the city is very lively all the time so there is always something to do and that's amazing for someone who's discovering so yes I would recommend it!

What is the student lifestyle like in Paris?

the students are very cosmopolitan so its fun to connect to a lot of people with different backgrounds than you even in your own city! in my university the students are really helpful to each other, we create study groups or even just updates groups to keep us informed about what's going on in the uni. its a safe place to ask questions as well. the student life is pretty hectic. there's a lot of events for students to integrate and meet new people, like for exemple on Thursday night we all go out in a bar to party and there's a lot of bigger events throughout the year too

How much does it cost to live in Paris?

when you are a student who live on your own, Paris can be quite pricey. so many of us search for a part time job or have a scholarship given to us by the school/state.. or we just eat pasta for a month to save pocket money haha

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Paris? Is there any advice you can give?

I don't really know that since I have the chance to still live with my parents but the only advice I can give is to search a long time in advance. Paris is a big city and its also very expensive to live in the center of the city so try to find something long time in advance to get the chance to have something cosy but also affordable. because you will not be able to rent a whole apartment in central city. another thing you can do is to reach outside of Paris, it will be more affordable and still very accessible thanks to the very extended railway/metro/tram/bus system (20min of transports won't kill you)

What places would you recommend visiting in Paris?

I recommend to visit all the historic places that founded the city. its thrilling to see where it all started. visit as many museums as possible, we have the chance to have a lot of them (and as I said earlier, you can get pretty good discounts on the entries - most of them are free if you are as student or under 26 years old)
and I would recommend to just get lost in the small streets and galleries because that's where you find the true Parisian experience.

Is it good to eat out in Paris? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

yes it is good to eat out. theres a place for anyone. whether you prefer fancy gastronomy restaurants or cheaper but still nice regional food or even fast-food, Paris has plenty of it you will always find something perfect for you

Is the nightlife good in Paris? Where is good to go?

the nightlife is the best in Paris. I recommend to go to the champs élysées at night because it is always so lively and beautiful (you will enjoy random dance performances on the middle of the sidewalk) . nights clubs are always a good idea (and some a free for girls once a week) in warmer weather the walks or picnics by the river Seine are lovely and some houseboats transform into night clubs

What advice would you give future students heading to Paris?

I would recommend them to make sure to do as many things as possible and to try to adapt to the Parisian life for a better immersion.. and just have the most fun! Paris is a young city with a lot of ressources if you do your research ! so just come and enjoy your youth!
