Experience in Paris, France by Raquel

How is it living in Paris? Would you recommend it? How is the city?

Living in Paris is breathing culture, is to live art and history every day, is to wake up in the morning and see things that you never get tired of seeing even if it is for the thousandth time. Paris is definitely a delightful and magical city that I would recommend to anyone!

How is the student environment in Paris?

When it comes to the student environment, at least considering my university (Paris 8), I have a very particular opinion, because in my opinion it is very poorly organized. The teachers aren't very accessible and the worst part is that we can only talk to them in classes. If we want their e-mails we cannot have access to them, which I find ridiculous!

In average, how much did you spend living in Paris?

Considering that I smoke and that I eat lunch out I spent in average 400 euros per month.

Is it difficult to find housing in Paris? Do you have any advice?

In relation to housing, it is a bit hard to find since the majority of the owners ask for a minimal stay of one year.

How is the food? What are your favorite delicacies?

In Paris what I like the most is definitely the baguettes and the cheeses.

What places would you recommend visiting in Paris?

Eiffel Tower, louvre museum, Triumphal arch, bercy village.

How is the quality of restaurants in Paris? Can you tell us what are the best places to eat?

Personally, the best restaurants are the ones in Notre-dame.

How is the nightlife in Paris? What are the best places?

There are several places in Paris to go out, but you will definitely have to dress up in extremely formal clothes. That is what I find the most cumbersome.

What advice would you give to future students going to Paris?

Paris is a beautiful city, however not everything is a sea of roses. It is necessary to pay attention to the spending, to go out at night it's best to go to parties at your friends! When it comes to the subway pass, it costs 350 for the full year. However, you can go, without limits, to every area of Paris by subway, bus or train. Besides, for those who have short commutes, you have the option of adhering to the bicycles that are spread throughout the city, and leave them in any adequate post, which are also everywhere. These bicycles have the yearly price of 30 euros, but they have a caution of 150 euros.
