What is it like to live in Paris? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I've been here in Paris for about two years now and I think it is the most beautiful city in the world. Very convenient city to live in, you have everything either within the city or easily commutable distance from the city. Initially I wasn't very excitied and was a bit nervous as I had heard a lot of things about French, like they being very cold and rigid when it comes to their language and are proud people who love their language their culture and traditions. On the contrary what I discovered was completely different, they are warm and welcoming all you have to do is try and appreciate what your get from this beautiful city and their people.

What is the student lifestyle like in Paris?

Not sure, I am not a student. But I am sure it must be great. You have a young metropolitant crowd and so much to learn and enjoy here. I would have loved to come here as a student.

How much does it cost to live in Paris?

I live with my family in the heart of the city in an appartment that is quiet Parisian and it cost as about 4000 Euros a month as rent plus the utility bills like heating, gas and electricity plus the phone, digital TV and internet that runs into about 300 Euros. Parking is very expensive in this city if you have a car and have to travel around the city. Metro subways are clean, convenient and cheap way of travelling within and around the city. Overall, the city is expensive I would say.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Paris? Is there any advice you can give?

Not for us, as my husband is an expat and the agency assigned by the company took care of everything for us. Infact you have real estate agents in every street in Paris, and loads of websites helping you find home. I am sure its not difficult, but is definately expesive.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is amazing and worth dying for, I am not sure how these Parisians maintain their weight after eating all the goodies here. I love French dessert and bakery items, most of them are so simple and probably why so delicious. My favorite is crème brûlée, its so smooth and just melts in your mouth hmmmmmmmmmmm

What places would you recommend visiting in Paris?

Every street of Paris is worth a visit. If possible don't miss anything.

Is it good to eat out in Paris? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Not sure, in terms of hygiene. But taste wise its really good.

Is the nightlife good in Paris? Where is good to go?

What advice would you give future students heading to Paris?

If you come here, live your life as a Parisian, be a part of the culture and enjoy everyday in the city.
