What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food you have to try in Paris : croissant and pain au chocolat in any bakery, and also baguette of course.
You have to try a Laduree (brand) macaron (chocolate patissery). It is expensive and luxurious but you can buy one or two for maybe 5 euros.

What places would you recommend visiting in Paris?

Montmartre - sacre coeur
Rooftop of the Printemps Haussmann building for free
Stages of the Eiffel Tower (have to pay) and go down by the stairs
Grand Palais is a very beautiful building down of the Champs Elysees
Arc de Triomphe / Eiffel tower of course
