What is it like to live in Paris? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Everything, I recommend it, people are very nice, you don't have to be afraid to talk to them!

What is the student lifestyle like in Paris?

It is very easy to be student in Paris, it is not the same method as in UK. People are quite unified when the ewams are coming, especially in Paris 8.

How much does it cost to live in Paris?

If you are in the CROUS, accomodation for students, it does not cost a lot (300-350€/months) but in the city of Paris, private accomodations are very expensive, it can go to 750€ for a tiny bedroom, without bathroom or toilets! Be careful of that!!

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Paris? Is there any advice you can give?

It depends, if you do not do it at the last minute, you can find something great!

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

You can find everything in Paris, food from every country in the world! I recommend Indian food in the "La Chapelle" area near the 18ème.

What places would you recommend visiting in Paris?

The musée d'Orsay.

Is it good to eat out in Paris? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yep! My favourite spot is a restaurant called "L'empire" at the metropolitan station "Rue du Bac" M12, te restaurant is situated in rue du bac. It is very cheap and you eat very well !

Is the nightlife good in Paris? Where is good to go?

Well, in the week ends yes. The problem, is that during weekdays, bars close at midnight or 1am max. Or you have to find the right bar. It is good to go "rue mouffetard" M7(place monge) and Rue de la huchette M4 (St Michel) if you do not mind partying with tourists. If you want to meet people from Paris, I recommand Rue Oberkampf M2 (Ménilmontant). But I partied in place like Pigalle also and it is very good place to dance all night long !!

What advice would you give future students heading to Paris?

Do not worry, parisians have a bad reputation, but it is not true!! Do not hesitate to ask them, find your accomodation the earliest as possible and everything is going to be fine!!
