What is it like to live in Paris? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Paris is a city so beautiful, every arrondissement has its own identity and atmosphere. There are so many things to do, either visiting or going out. I would recommend it for every exchange student.

What is the student lifestyle like in Paris?

A mix between go out with your friends and stay at home. Parisian students like both. Keep in mind that the parties end late ( around 4-5 am minimum).

How much does it cost to live in Paris?

It is quite expensive actually, but less than other great European cities like London, Oslo, or Copenhagen.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Paris? Is there any advice you can give?

I don't know for sure because I've never had to rent anything because I live there. But I would say that finding a room is not so difficult, if you have a good budget of course.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Of course, french cuisine is amazing. You can eat very well everywhere, even in small bistrots.

What places would you recommend visiting in Paris?

Montmartre, Beaubourg, Louvre, Champs Élysées and rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré for shopping. Also le Marais which is a nice and beautiful neighborhood, especially to go out.

Is it good to eat out in Paris? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Like I said, everywhere you go can be a nice place to eat, even for small budgets. I like "le MOM" ( great atmosphere, cheap and good stuffs), Renoma Café, le Miss KO ( Asian, really nice but more expensive). For more classic places, L'Entrecôte ( but you have to make the queue), la Brasserie La Lorraine or La Fontaine de Mars.

Is the nightlife good in Paris? Where is good to go?

If you want "classy" nightclubs, go to the streets around les Champs Élysées. If you want small places or bars, you can go to le Marais, Pigalle or rue d'Oberkampf. For big nightclubs with great artists: le Rex Club, le Yoyo or le Zig Zag.

What advice would you give future students heading to Paris?

Don't have too many clichés, Parisians are often nicer than what people think.

If you want to go shopping : Citadium, Colette or les Galeries Lafayette.

Say "bonjour" whenever you enter somewhere with people, it may mean nothing for you but it's in the culture.

And most of all, enjoy this amazing city !
