Experience in Paris, France by Jennifer
What is it like to live in Paris? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
If you have money, Paris is a very nice place to live. If you don t earn money that much forget about it.
What is the student lifestyle like in Paris?
You have to be in good health to be a student in Paris because student = poor = living in the suburbs = very long and tired way to get and come back from school.
How much does it cost to live in Paris?
an arm. To live IN Paris, you need to win 3 times the rent, and for a small flat is about 600 euros.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Paris? Is there any advice you can give?
Yes, very difficult. Ask help to your university to get you a place, or do what we call ' colocation' (to live with other poeple).
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
As students, we do not eat well without money. We take dishes from home or we go to the restaurant from the university and it costs 4 euros the meal. But sometimes its not that good.
What places would you recommend visiting in Paris?
A piece of advice : around famous places there are a lot of thieves so watch out.
Notre Dame, Le Sacre Coeur, the Eiffel Tower, Trocadero, Saint Michel ( an area with restaurants ), Un Monde Vegan (is a store where they sell healthy food), la Villette, and to walk around in Paris is nice.
Is it good to eat out in Paris? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
too expensive.
Is the nightlife good in Paris? Where is good to go?
Is nice to go to Irish pubs or Karaoke in the center of Paris.
What advice would you give future students heading to Paris?
Hold your nose because the metro is a very stinky and durty place, Paris is a crowded city. Stay away from the crowd, and watch up to buldings because their architecture are often very pretty. If you don t have much money, you can go to markets as 'dia' or ' carrefour' to get something to eat. Go to libraries to study, we have plenty. Do not take out your cellphones in the street and do not have gold neckless, even small ones. Keep your right side when you walk.
